Submission Guidelines

Epic Parenting is a site dedicated to giving voice to the real experiences of parents everywhere. To that end, we’re looking for well-written articles, with a 500 word minimum, relating to parenting, or raising children, or things related to parenting and raising children. You may use the submission form on our site, or you may email submissions in doc, docx, odf, odt, or pdf format, to [email protected]. Links to digital downloads, or URLs are not accepted.

We reserve the right to edit for clarity, including but not limited to spelling, grammar, and syntax. If your article is accepted, we will not contact you about said changes. If changes beyond clarity are required, we will send the article back to you for revision. You reserve and retain all copyright to your materials, but you grant Epic Parenting permission to use your work on our site, subsidiary sites, promotional materials, RSS feeds, or other syndication outlets. You also agree that you are submitting your article without expectation of compensation.

Epic Parenting checks popular sites to ensure articles we publish haven’t been plagiarized. If you’ve also published your article on a blog or other website, please include a notation in your submission, detailing the location(s) of your article. If Epic Parenting discovers or is informed of an incidence of plagiarism, the article will be removed, and the author will face disciplinary action, including but not limited to suspension of posting rights, or expulsion from Epic Parenting authorship.

Articles must not be strictly promotional in nature. Include How To’s, Tips, Strategies, Techniques, Case-studies, Analysis, Opinions and/or Commentary in your articles from your own experience. You are welcome to include a link to your blog or personal non-commercial website. (Please see our advertising section for commercial site linking.)

Submission does not guarantee publication. Epic Parenting reserves the right to accept or reject any submission. We will not notify you if your article is rejected. Acceptance notifications will be sent out weekly on Fridays. If your article is rejected, you may edit, and resubmit the same article up to 3 times. After the 3rd resubmission, if the article is not accepted, it is not eligible for resubmission. Spamming multiple articles of the same content with different titles is grounds for authorship expulsion from Epic Parenting.

Epic Parenting does not host explicitly offensive content. Articles must not promote hate, racism, pornography, hacking, bomb building, terrorism and other illegal and/or offensive activities. Additionally, we will not accept articles on physical discipline, or the Ferber method of sleep training infants. We will use our discretion as it comes to articles about questionable medical decisions.

Epic Parenting respects article submission as a valid way of increasing exposure to your personal blog or non-commercial site. To that end, we ask that you limit the use of anchor links in the body of your article. Articles that are submitted which contain several links to the same site, or contain URLs that are banned by Google for questionable SEO tactics will be rejected, and ineligible for resubmission. Epic Parenting is, first and foremost, an informational parenting site, and your articles should reflect that.
